Lorraine Cadel

Jewellery Crafter

Lorraine has been designing and making beaded jewellery for over 25 years, starting as a hobby, but subsequently as a business. She and her husband started by attending major craft fairs all over the country selling the handcrafted jewellery that they had designed and created, and then, in 1992, opened their business Beadazzeled of Lincoln as a supplier of beads, findings and hand-crafted jewellery. This was sold in 2010. Lorraine is an outgoing and friendly person who has always enjoyed working face to face with people in the customer service area. She continues to run regular workshops teaching people to create their own jewellery and regularly gives talks to ladies groups. Her husband, Graham, is an integral part of any workshops held offering 'hands on ' assistance to those that take part. Lorraine lives in a small village near the beautiful City of Lincoln. She enjoys keeping fit by running and spending time with her 4 grandchildren.

Stephen Garcia

After winning young talent shows in the UK and receiving the “Variety Club Trophy” for Magic and Comedy, Stephen soon realised that this was his journey and embarked on his first cruise at 19, performing in production shows with singers and dancers and to this day, Stephen still can’t dance. Stephen Garcia is recognized as one the top Magic Comedy acts cruising…this week! He was voted “Cruise Act of the Year” by his Mum and Dad. Sir Elton John, Tom Jones & Céline Dion are just many of the famous names Stephen has never worked with. Stephen was invited to appear on the “Royal Variety Show” last year but turned it down as he was still fitting his mother-in laws new kitchen. Stephen’s love for comedy has grown rapidly and is a huge part of his performances. With wit and natural topical funniness incorporated into his shows, he creates fast moving, original and entertaining shows with zany laughter. Stephen’s shows are just perfect for family audiences; cheeky but never rude.

Lina is a creative and multi-talented member of society, with a unique career history, and an extremely engaging personality - both on and off stage. For 10+ years she was a professional electrical engineer in the nuclear generation and electricity distribution industries before establishing a nationally acclaimed Yoga School - which led to 15 years of significant personal development for both Lina and hundreds of her students. She also made time for her work as an NHS Trust Governor and Childline Counsellor. Now a senior psychotherapist, media expert commentator, human relations business consultant and published writer, Lina also cares for her disabled husband. She divides her disposable time between her two enduring passions . . . as an enthusiastic self-taught and mostly organic gardener; and sharing her many interests as an enrichment lecturer on international cruise ships. Born and educated in Birmingham, Lina's Hindu Brahmin family background enabled her to acquire extensive knowledge and experience of Indian culture, religion and history. Her first degree was in electrical/electronic engineering, followed by post-grad management training. Lina achieved an MA in Jungian Psychotherapy & Healing 20 years later, as part of her ongoing professional development. She is a seasoned traveller, having extensive experience of India, the Middle East and Europe; and is also a seasoned guest speaker, having delivered her highly entertaining and informative lectures on four separate cruise lines, travelling to North America, Brazil and the Amazon, Scandinavia, Russia and Southern Europe. Her talks list is extensive, including famous people (e.g. from the Queen to Elvis Presley; from Evita Peron to Frank Sinatra); a number of "Whistle-stop Tours" (of a variety of places, e.g. from the Azores to the Faroes, from the Amazon to Normandy); subjects from the arts and history (e.g. Wassily Kandinsky, The Romanovs and Revolution, The Hanseatic League; and a rich mixture of popular topics (e.g. TV Comedy, What is Mind-Body Medicine?, James Bond, and A Story of Chocolate!). Lina will be keen to welcome you to her series of enriching lectures, where she will seek to ensure that you will be informed, entertained -- and occasionally inspired

Pauline Daniels

Pauline served her time as a comedienne and has performed in every venue imaginable. Her many television appearances include, The Comedians, Saturday Royal and Wogan. But since 1986 Pauline has been hailed as one of Merseyside’s favourite theatrical daughters and one of the country’s finest actresses. Her first role was at the Liverpool Playhouse in “Chicago” as “Mama Morton” which was swiftly followed by “Rose” in “Gypsy”. Then followed many different roles including musical comedy and straight roles. In 1992 she became Willy Russell’s favourite “Shirley Valentine” and has continued to play “Shirley” all over the country. Many other plays and productions too numerous to mention have taken place since but her toughest role to date was in “Unprotected” at the Everyman which went on to be an award winner at the Edinburgh Festival in 2006 and a Scouse ology in 2007. Pauline co-presented with Roger Phillips for two years on Radio Merseyside and has sung many times with the Philharmonic Orchestra. She also plays a mean baddie in Panto and has been very successful as the Wicked Queen and Baroness Hard-up at the Floral in New Brighton. Pauline is Merseyside’s Queen of Comedy and continues to be one of Britain’s hardest working stand-up comics.

Chris is delighted to be the port presenter on this once in a lifetime cruise around the World. Living in Aberdeen, Scotland, Chris’s day job is a teacher but until 2022 he worked as a Shore Excursions Manager for cruise lines such as P&O Cruises, Fred Olsen and Viking. In this job Chris has been to many destinations around the World and has a wealth of knowledge and tips to help guests decide what they want to do with their time in port.

John is a retired professional photographer having been a lawyer in a previous life. He has travelled extensively worldwide and has an enormous portfolio of travel photographs. He has twenty years of cruising experience so knows exactly what is necessary to enjoy a destination port in the limited time available. You will learn a brief history of the port, its culture, its cuisine and then be guided by reference to maps and diagrams as to how to make the best of your day there. By the time you arrive you will feel as if you know the place even though you will have never been there before. Jon will incorporate photography tips into his talks so as to encourage you to go home with a full photographic record of your cruise. If you have ay photography or camera queries, he is happy to assist you.

Ocean Conservationists will be showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from the deck, helping everyone learn more about the marine environment around them whilst collecting vital data about whales, dolphins and porpoises to contribute to their protection. Whilst on board, the team will be delivering activities to help guests learn more about these amazing animals as well as the threats they face, including the Ambassador & ORCA pledge and the first ever cruise "Anti-whaling" campaign.

What to expect on this sailing... This itinerary hits a lot of important hotspots - a Particularly Sensitive Sea Area in the northwest Mediterranean, an important area for an endangered population of sperm whales around the Hellenic Trench, and areas in both the eastern and south western Mediterranean which are very data deficient.

As this was booked entirely through the website with no interaction with a helpdesk or deviation from the website set format there really wasn't much in the way of 'service' to comment on! However, we have found the service levels on Ambassador in general by far exceed the service levels found on higher cost and more established cruise lines.
