A voyage through the decades of Soul Music, performed soulfully by Audley Anderson. Visually supported by nostalgic images and videos of the artists, TV programmes and Idents of the respective time, Audley pays homage recreating the Soul and Motown hits. starting from the 1960s to present day.

K-LO

Guest Act

K-Lo is one of the most versatile and unique comedy vocal entertainers in the industry, covering all genres of music from pop to opera and all that’s in between. K-Lo’s huge repertoire means she can carefully select songs and comedy to suit any situation, making her both endearing and likeable to audiences of all ages. K-Lo perfectly combines vocals likened to Jane McDonald with the tongue-in-cheek humour of Victoria Wood. Audiences are delighted by her unique musical arrangements that offer fun and touching takes on songs we all know and love and her flagship show “Are you sitting comfortably?... Let’s drink gin” is a firm favourite.

John Hall

Watercolour Tutor

John Hall gained a place at the Slade School of Fine Art in London on leaving Stratford Grammar School which he had to give up due to the death of his father; pursuing a career in the Automotive Industry. But, he has always continued to draw and paint, in all mediums, as a member of his local Art Societies; currently a committee member of his current Art Group. He successfully sells his paintings in open Exhibitions and enters Competitions, where he has reached the final in the Essex Landscape Artist of the Year competition and, more recently, the SAA Artist of the Year competition, of which he is a member. He is regularly commissioned to paint portraits and draw cartoons and has taught on Painting Holidays in France and the Canary Islands. He enjoyed going on many cruises with his late wife and has now successfully combined that with his love of art by working as an Art Instructor on Cruise Ships where he has run his Art Group Workshops on a variety of cruises with different cruise lines. He exhibits his work on his Instagram page.

Andy Hunting

Guest Speaker

Andy has recently retired as a teacher of 33 years, mainly A level and some GCSE. He is an Advanced Skills Teacher (dubbed “Super Teacher” by the press) and was the fourteenth teacher in the UK to gain the award. He was also a regional finalist in the “Teacher of the Year” competition. He is therefore used to talking to large groups (school assemblies of up to 800 people) as well as smaller class-sized groups. Having taught for 15 years at a boarding school which was a 24 hour, 7 days a week commitment, he often used to teach a wide range of extra-curricular topics including juggling, basic sleight-of-hand magic and table tennis coaching - this, of course, was in addition to his subject specialisms of economics and business. In retirement Andy has set himself a target to visit as many countries as possible and to combine this with his love of photography. Andy has won several national photographic competitions within his specialist interests of landscape, travel and street photography. So far he and his camera have visited 28 countries, the highlights being Peru, India, South Africa, Cuba, Iceland and northern Finland. Having been on several cruises as a passenger and seen the workshops on offer, Andy feels confident he could deliver talks and workshops to a high standard, both technically and entertainingly.

Sharon Tombs

Sharon Tombs is sewing professional with a passion for upcycling and sustainability. Educated to HNC level she has been managing a successful sewing organisation for 10 years. She holds a City & Guilds diploma in ‘Craft Skills for Creative Industries’ which included awards in Health & Safety, Copyright law and all aspects of fabric and sewing skills and knowledge. She also has qualifications in Leadership and management. She has been organising and running sewing groups for many years mainly within volunteering and constantly researches ideas to ensure that projects are as environmentally friendly as possible. Adaptable and friendly Sharon has been featured in several magazines representing dressmaking and creativity in the charitable sector.

As this was booked entirely through the website with no interaction with a helpdesk or deviation from the website set format there really wasn't much in the way of 'service' to comment on! However, we have found the service levels on Ambassador in general by far exceed the service levels found on higher cost and more established cruise lines.
