Kate Thornton

You may recognise Kate Thornton from her hosting of The X-Factor, Loose Women and This Morning – but now she’s in the Greatest Hits Radio house every weekday 1-4 pm. Born in 1973 Kate was the first female and youngest ever editor of pop magazine Smash Hits at age 22, producing her first issue in February 1996 covering the breakup of boy-band Take That You can also join Kate for ‘The Smash Hits Years’ every Sunday afternoon – spend a couple of hours in two different musical years – with the Greatest Hits and memories to bring it all flooding back.

Malcolm Mcfarlane

Malcolm Macfarlane is an author whose published works are books about Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney. He was a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a former Rotarian who retired from a senior banking position in the UK . Malcolm has always had an interest in the Great American Songbook and his lectures have grown out of this hobby. He is a noted Bing Crosby authority who has edited BING magazine since 1993. He has been interviewed on radio on many occasions about Crosby, Como and other artists such as Rosemary Clooney and Frankie Vaughan. Malcolm seeks to entertain in his lectures by actively encouraging audience participation and he supports his talks with music and video. He is regularly in demand to deliver his PowerPoint presentations on nostalgic music subjects in the North of England and has spoken for cruise lines such as Cunard, P & O, Saga and Fred Olsen.

K-Lo’s huge repertoire means she can carefully select songs and comedy to suit any situation, making her both endearing and likeable to audiences of all ages. K-Lo perfectly combines vocals likened to Jane McDonald with the tongue-in-cheek humour of Victoria Wood. Many of the projects will be themed around ports the ship will visit.

ORCA is one of the UK’s leading whale and dolphin conservation charities, dedicated to the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the world. Ocean Conservationists will be showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from the deck, helping everyone learn more about the marine environment around them whilst collecting vital data about whales, dolphins and porpoises to contribute to their protection. Whilst on board, the team will be delivering activities to help guests learn more about these amazing animals as well as the threats they face, including the Ambassador & ORCA pledge and the first ever cruise "Anti-whaling" campaign.

Call was answered quickly. I was enquiring about a specific cruise for a solo traveller. A quote was forthcoming and I was asked if I wanted to book straight away. I requested a callback to consider the offer and the staff member rang back at the requested time. I then booked it over the phone. The staff member was polite, informative and told me at the end of the call it was only his first week in the role. Well done George!

“Return customer and loved the cruise before.”

The person I spoke to was ok but I felt lacking in ' enthusiasm ' when I was trying to book. I was suggesting solutions rather than him. Not a big issue but slightly frustrating. Also booking confirmation not received as promised. Contacted customer service and was told they have some issues with Hotmail addresses. This is a popular one so seems strange. I don't have confirmation of all booking details yet. Not even sure they will be contacting me if Hotmail addresses an issue.
