Simone Kaye

Guest Act - Vocalist

Simone has spanned her 20 year career travelling around the world having sung for major artists such as George Michael, Take That, Ariana Grande, Paloma Faith and Emeli Sande.  She has performed for the Queen and the Royal Family more than once, taken to the stage at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena and the London O2 and sang as part of the official choir for the closing ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics.   She has appeared on many prime time TV shows such as The Baftas, This Morning and the Graham Norton show and has also appeared as a TV Judge on the BBC1 show “All Together Now” as well as featuring as the “Olympic Performer” on BBC1’s I Can See Your Voice.

Colin Charles

Guest Act - Soul & Motown

Colin was trained at the Ballet Rambert School in Twickenham. His first West End musical was Cats, in which he performed the roles of Coricopat and Mr Mistofolees. As a soloist singer/dancer he has performed with Wayne Sleep and his company on tour and at London's Dominion Theatre. Other West end credits include King at the Piccadilly Theatre and Children of Eden at the Prince Edward Theatre. He played the principal role of Four-Eyed Moe in Five Guys Named Moe at the Lyric Theatre; London Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opposite Jason Donavon and Philip Schofield at the London Palladium; The role of T Bone and understudy to the part of Joe in Carmen Jones - The Musical; The principal role of John in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The role of Steven in Seeing the Light at the Roundhouse, Camden. The role of Tyrone in the production of Fame touring Scotland. Colin has played the principle role of Britney in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, JT in the touring production of Oh What A Night. The principal role of Tito Suarez in Dirty Dancing at the Dominion Theatre, London Colin has also been a Production Singer for Costa Cruises and Celebrity Cruises as well cast, staged and choreographed on a production for Celebrity Cruises.

Chris Steed

Guest Speaker - Destination

An enthusiastic public speaker now, Chris was a shy and studious young man educated on the south coast of the UK. His first career was in the UK Civil Service where he worked on exports, space satellites, South Africa policy in the Apartheid era and merchant shipping. From there he followed a vocation and had some years in church and community programmes on London housing estates. He has done some years as UK Director of an international mission agency sending young people across the world. Twenty years ago he retrained as a teacher of history and major world religions and as an educator with the Holocaust Education Trust while continuing church ministry and public speaking. In the Anglican church, he has led some major projects regenerating a large church on the edge of Southampton and latterly managing an eco project in one of the country’s oldest churches. Novelist and author of a dozen books on contemporary life and politics, he works part-time at London School of Theology as Programme Lead for theology and counselling, training a wave of counsellors equipped to help people navigate their troubled waters. He loves travelling and has trekked to such places as Macchu Picchu, Kilimanjaro and some way up Everest as well as cruises and talks at conferences across the world. His greatest love is being with my family and friends, cooking, looking at the stars and generally bringing a zest for life and an inborn curiosity about the world.

He loves exploring the quirky and unexpected sides of art movements, artists, and places, keeping things interesting and accessible. Since 2008, he’s been sharing his passion for art on cruise ships, and he’s been working with some of London’s leading international galleries since 2005. Drawing on his broad knowledge, careful research, and travel experiences, Malcolm connects his talks to the people and places you’ll discover. Join Malcolm to uncover something new or see a familiar topic in an entirely fresh way.

Niki Hill

Craft Instructor

I hold a First Class Honours Degree in Applied Arts. I am a lifelong artist, crafter and recycler. Just about everything we throw out can be repurposed. With this in mind I have designed makes that use recycled or ethnically sourced materials. All we need is a little guidance and some imagination. After a career of teaching to Degree level in Applied Arts I am now on my retirement adventure. I run classes for all ages from Pre-school to U3A. I have a workshop of my own where I deliver successful and popular classes. I am able to tailor my classes from absolute beginners to the more experienced. Giving one to one instruction where needed or letting the more able explore their experience. I am now keen to expand and combine my art and love of travel. My classes make memories to cherish as well as treasures to keep forever. I will be accompanied by my Husband Noel, ex Royal Navy Submariner and Devon and Cornwall Police now retired and happy to support me in my ventures.
