Ambassador Upgrade Terms & Conditions
Ambassador Upgrades is our new upgrade facility, providing booked guests with an opportunity to submit an offer to upgrade from the original cabin category purchased, to a higher category. Currently, this programme applies to selected sailings on Ambience & Ambition only.
Eligibility and Invitation to Offer
Ambassador Cruise Line will activate our Ambassador Upgrades programme on selected sailings, based on live availability. We will also take the availability of each cabin category into consideration. This will mean that not all cruises, nor all cabin categories will be eligible for the programme (details of how you will be notified of eligibility are below). We will also continue to sell cabins within all categories during the upgrade offer period.
If you are the lead guest on your booking, your final balance has been paid and your cruise is deemed suitable for the programme, you should expect to receive an invitation to submit your upgrade offers 59 days prior to your departure date. The offer period remains open until 72 hours prior to sailing.
Emails will be sent directly to the email address registered on the booking. If you are booked with a travel agent, please ensure they have provided Ambassador with your direct email address, to ensure that you receive the communications.
Submitting an Offer
If you're eligible, you can submit an offer for the amount you'd be willing to pay for an upgrade. Only one offer may be submitted for each cabin category however, guests can submit offers for more than one cabin category. Offers submitted are considered as the total cost per cabin, not per person.
All submitted upgrade offers are confidential and are not displayed to other guests.
Acceptance and Rejection of an Offer
Ambassador reserves the right at its sole discretion to determine if an offer is accepted or not, regardless of cabin availability. Ambassador may action any upgrades at any time after the offer is submitted, up until 72 hours before the cruise departure date. If Ambassador Cruise Line accepts the offer, guest will receive an email confirming the acceptance of the offer. You will also receive an email to confirm if your offer has been unsuccessful. Emails will be received no later than 72 hours prior to your departure date.
Prior to submitting an offer, the offered amount you propose will be displayed. If Ambassador accepts an offer, the guest who submitted the offer will be obligated to pay the amount submitted. During the offer submission, the guest must provide their credit or debit card information. If the offer is accepted by Ambassador, the total amount will be charged to the credit or debit card provided. By submitting your credit or debit card details, you agree and accept that Ambassador is authorised to take the accepted offer amount from your card. Once paid, this amount is final and non-refundable even if your booking is cancelled at a later date (please refer to ‘Modifying or Cancelling an Offer’ below).
Please note that payments will be taken directly by our upgrade partner Plusgrade, and will appear on your statement as Ambassador*Upgrade, not Ambassador Cruise Line.
If your upgrade offer is accepted, we will automatically allocate you an upgraded cabin. Please note that once accepted, the upgrade is final and you will not be able to return to your original cabin. This programme may not be suitable for you if you selected your original cabin for specific features or its location on the ship. Please ensure you have checked the suitability of the cabin you intend to make an upgrade offer for before submitting your offer. If Ambassador Cruise Line does not accept the offer, the original booking will continue, and guests will travel in the original cabin category. Guests who are not selected for an upgrade will not receive any compensation, or other benefit as a result of their offer not being accepted.
Modifying or Cancelling an Offer
Provided an offer has not been accepted by Ambassador and the payment method has not been charged, you may modify or cancel an offer up to 72 hours prior to the cruise departure date. If the guest modifies or cancels the offer during the offer period, the original offer will be voided and replaced with guest’s modified offer. Voided or cancelled offers will not be considered further.
Once Ambassador has accepted an offer and the payment method charged, this is considered final and non-refundable. This includes if the booking is cancelled by the guest prior to sailing. No refund will be given for the upgrade offer, and the guest will be charged in full irrespectively. Refunds may be issued only in the following circumstances: 1) Ambassador Cruise Line cancels the cruise, or 2) Ambassador Cruise Line cancels the cruise and transfers the guests onto another cruise in a cabin category that is lower than the upgraded cabin category. Any refund or credit will be limited to the upgrade charge only and credited back to the original payment method.
General Terms
By submitting an offer, the guest agrees to the terms and conditions of this programme.
Any aspects of your booking including any promotions applied at the time of booking, will remain unaffected by any offers made or accepted.
Each offer is considered on an individual offer basis per cabin, meaning that Ambassador may not invite or accept offers of cabins travelling together and there is no guarantee that all cabins travelling together will be accepted i.e. one cabin may be accepted but another rejected. Please take this into consideration if travelling with other parties.
If bookings that are traveling together are upgraded, Ambassador does not guarantee that the upgraded cabins will be close together.
Ambassador Cruise Line reserves the right to update, modify and amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. These Terms and Conditions apply in conjunction with Ambassador Cruise Line’s booking conditions, website terms of use, privacy policy, all of which are incorporated into and form a part of these Terms and Conditions.
