We don’t stop there with the Scottish Isles, and a highlight of many cruises is Portree on the Isle of Skye, where you will feel like you’ve entered a Tolkienesque fantasy landscape upon Skye’s surreal crags and peaks. Then there are the hidden pleasures of St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly, a subtropical paradise off the coast of Cornwall. Little more than six square miles, St Mary’s is the largest of the islands, with an atmosphere that is unlike anything you will experience on the mainland.
