Ambassador Upgrade (Flights)Terms & Conditions
Ambassador Upgrades is our new upgrade facility, providing booked guests with an opportunity to submit an offer to upgrade from the original flight seat class purchased, to a higher flight seat class. The programme applies all flights within the Renaissance 25/26 Fly-Cruise programme only.
Eligibility and Invitation to Offer
Ambassador Cruise Line will activate our Ambassador Upgrades programme on selected flights, based on live availability. We will also take the availability of each flight class into consideration.
This may mean that not all flights will be eligible for the programme (details of how you will be notified of eligibility are below). We will also continue to sell flight seats with all classes during the upgrade offer period.
If you are the lead guest on your booking, your final balance has been paid and your flights are deemed suitable for the programme, you should expect to receive an invitation to submit your upgrade offers 80 days prior to sailing.
Emails will be sent directly to the email address registered on the booking. If you are booked with a travel agent, please ensure they have provided Ambassador with your direct email address, to ensure that you receive the communications.
Submitting an Offer
If you're eligible, you can submit an offer for the amount you'd be willing to pay for an upgrade to a higher flight seat class. Only one offer may be submitted for each class of seat however, guests can submit offers for more than one seat class if they wish.
The offer amount is per person and covers all flights included in your booking under the provided booking reference. For example, if your cruise starts or ends in London Tilbury and includes a one-way flight to or from Barbados, the offer applies to that single flight. If your booking includes round-trip flights (to and from Barbados), the offer applies to both flights.
All submitted upgrade offers are confidential and are not displayed to other guests.
Acceptance and Rejection of an Offer
Ambassador reserves the right at its sole discretion to determine if an offer is accepted or not, regardless of seat availability. Ambassador may action any upgrades at any time after the offer is submitted, up until 14 days before the flight departure date. If Ambassador Cruise Line accepts the offer, guest will receive an email confirming the acceptance of the offer.
Prior to submitting an offer, the offered amount you propose will be displayed. If an offer is accepted by Ambassador, the guest who submitted the offer will be obligated to pay the amount submitted. During the offer submission, the guest must provide their credit or debit card information. If the offer is accepted by Ambassador, the total amount will be charged to the credit or debit card provided. By submitting your credit or debit card details, you agree and accept that Ambassador is authorised to take the accepted offer amount from your card. Once paid, this amount is final and non-refundable even if your booking is cancelled at a later date (please refer to ‘Modifying or Cancelling an Offer’ below).
Please note that payments will be taken directly by our upgrade partner Plusgrade, and will appear on your statement as Ambassador*Upgrade, not Ambassador Cruise Line.
If your upgrade offer is accepted, we will automatically allocate you an upgraded seat. Please note that once accepted, the upgrade is final, and you will not be able to return to your original seat. Please ensure you have checked the suitability of the flight class you intend to make an upgrade offer for before submitting your offer. If you have any queries in relation to the flight/s in question, please do not hesitate to contact our Flight Team on 0808 304 1597 (Mon-Fri 0900hrs to 1730hrs).
If Ambassador Cruise Line does not accept the offer, the original booking will continue, and guests will travel in the original flight seat/class booked. Guests who are not selected for an upgrade will not receive any compensation, or other benefit as a result of their offer not being accepted.
Modifying or Cancelling the Offer
Provided an offer has not been accepted by Ambassador and the payment method has not been charged, you may modify or cancel an offer up to 30 days prior to the cruise departure date. If the guest modifies or cancels the offer during the offer period, the original offer will be voided and replaced with guest’s modified offer. Voided or cancelled offers will not be considered further.
Once Ambassador has accepted an offer and the payment method charged, this is considered final. If a guest cancels their booking, the amount paid for the upgraded flight seats via the Ambassador Upgrade programme, is non-refundable. This includes if the booking in its’ entirety is cancelled by the guest prior to sailing. No refund will be given for the upgrade offer, and the guest will be charged in full irrespectively. This is in addition to the applicable charges for cancelling the booking (which can be viewed here Booking Conditions | Ambassador Cruise Line) Also, the upgrade cannot be transferred to another flight or to another passenger.
Refunds may be issued only in the following circumstances: 1) Ambassador Cruise Line cancels the flight, or 2) Ambassador Cruise Line cancels the flight and transfers the guests onto another flight and the upgrade is not available. Any refund or credit will be limited to the upgrade charge only and credited back to the original payment method.
General Terms
By submitting an offer, the guest agrees to the terms and conditions of this programme.
Any aspects of your booking including any promotions applied at the time of booking, will remain unaffected by any offers made or accepted.
The location of the upgraded flight seat will depend on availability, at the time of when the upgrade is confirmed. Whilst Ambassador will try to ensure that guests on the same booking are seated together, this cannot be guaranteed.
Each offer is considered individually and bares no relation to any linked bookings. Ambassador cannot guarantee that all guests travelling together will be upgraded, nor that flight seats will be allocated next or near to any linked bookings.
Ambassador Cruise Line reserves the right to update, modify and amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. These Terms and Conditions apply in conjunction with Ambassador Cruise Line’s booking conditions, website terms of use, privacy policy, all of which are incorporated into and form a part of these Terms and Conditions.
