Near the city of Porto, Leixoes is one of Portugal's major seaports and is widely associated with the exporting of port wine. Day trips to Porto are a popular activity, but there are also quayside beaches and cafes to enjoy on either side of the Douro River.

Lisbon
Portugal's bustling capital of Lisbon allures with its mix of Old World charm and seaside vibes. Lose yourself in the maze of narrow streets in the Alfama district, lunch atop the scenic overlook of Santa Catarina, and savour Lisbon's rich cultural tapestry.

Cadiz
The ancient seaport of Cadiz is a testament to Spain's seafaring history. From charming plazas to sun-drenched beaches, the city invites exploration of its cultural richness and Andalusian allure.

Vigo

Jenny Powell kick starts your weekend with the biggest songs of the 70s, 80s and 90s.  Join Jenny for Greatest Hits Radio breakfast, Saturday and Sunday from 6-10am. Originally from London, Jenny has settled in leafy Cheshire with her family.  Jenny has a wealth of experience in television and radio.  You may remember Jenny from Wheel of Fortune,  Love 2 Shop and has even been a presenter on Top of The Pops! 

Kate Thornton

You may recognise Kate Thornton from her hosting of The X-Factor, Loose Women and This Morning – but now she’s in the Greatest Hits Radio house every weekday 1-4 pm. Born in 1973 Kate was the first female and youngest ever editor of pop magazine Smash Hits at age 22, producing her first issue in February 1996 covering the breakup of boy-band Take That You can also join Kate for ‘The Smash Hits Years’ every Sunday afternoon – spend a couple of hours in two different musical years – with the Greatest Hits and memories to bring it all flooding back.

Lucy Alexander

Lucy Alexander is an English television presenter and property expert best known for fronting long-running UK property shows including BBC One’s Homes Under the Hammer and Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun and Bang on Budget. She now combines TV work with property development, voiceovers, and live presenting Lucy continues to work as a property and lifestyle presenter, including on Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, which she joined in the early 2020s. She also appears on other factual and consumer programmes and is available as a live event host and speaker, particularly for property and interiors-related events. Lucy Alexander was born in East Dulwich, London, England. She bought her first property at the age of 18, beginning a long-standing personal involvement in buying, renovating, and selling homes with her husband. Alexander began her TV career as a children’s presenter, working for Nickelodeon and presenting shows such as Milkshake! and It’s a Knockout in the late 1990s. She later moved into travel and property programming, becoming one of the main presenters on TV Travelshop before joining the BBC. From 2003, Lucy co-presented BBC One’s daytime property auction series Homes Under the Hammer alongside Martin Roberts, becoming closely associated with the show. She left the series in 2016 after more than a decade, although episodes she had filmed continued to air intermittently until 2018, and she has featured in later anniversary and special broadcasts. Beyond Homes Under the Hammer, Lucy has presented and appeared on programmes including Matron, Medicine and Me: 70 Years of the NHS, Best of Both Worlds, Bang on Budget, Lost and Found, and The Customer Is Always Right. She also undertakes commercial voiceover work and corporate presenting, drawing on her expertise in property, interiors, and lifestyle. Lucy is married to former professional footballer Stewart Castledine, and together they have bought, renovated, and sold more than a dozen properties. Her family’s experience with her daughter’s diagnosis of transverse myelitis led to her contributing to documentaries exploring disability, rehabilitation, and the NHS. Lucy lives in Surrey with her daughter Kitty (21) who is an actress & plays Penny Branning in BBC Eastenders & her son Leo (18) Chelsea Under 21 football player and her husband.

Andrea McLean

Tracey’s dedication to the craft extends far beyond her own studio, Craftworx, located in the north of England. Tracey’s hands-on teaching style ensures that every student—whether a beginner or an experienced maker—feels supported and inspired to explore the limitless possibilities of metal clay. As a member of the Advisory Panel for the Alliance for Metal Clay Arts Worldwide (AMCAW), Tracey plays a key role in nurturing the global metal clay community. She has authored over 100 articles for national craft magazines, sharing her passion, techniques, and innovative ideas to elevate the craft even further. Tracey is a familiar face at major jewellery and craft events, where her work continues to amaze and inspire. Tracey’s enthusiasm, expertise, and warmth make her the perfect tutor to lead you into the magical world of metal clay jewellery. Clive Harvey

Clive’s working career has been somewhat varied; beginning in retail, the highlight of which was working at Liberty on Regent Street. It was here that Clive's interest in art, design and particularly interior design, was able to flourish. A brief time was spent with the luxury goods firm, Dunhill followed by some years working in the film industry. Clive then made a complete change of direction by moving into government service. It was there that he spent several years in the Marine Division of the Department of Trade and Industry. Working there enabled him to expand his interest in ships – particularly passenger liners. For over ten years Clive was the chairman of the Ocean Liner Society and also editor of the society’s magazine, Sea Lines. He has been a contributor of articles to a variety of shipping magazines and has also authored several books on ocean liners, including the definitive history of the Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth of 1940. Clive was a major contributor and participant in a six-part series 'Lost Liners' for The History Channel - shown in 2022 and in the follow-up series to be aired in 2024. He has also given presentations to the New York branch of the World Ship Society. Clive also has a passion for old cars and can often be found at classic car events. He presently lives in an historic house in Norwich from where he runs a Bed and Breakfast.

Generally the service provided by Ambassador was very good, with the majority of the staff friendly and hard working. The quality of the bed linen could be much better. The bed sheets were very poor quality. We also had to get the pillow and quilt changed, as the original ones were not good. The towels were on the small side. Entertainment and food were generally good. Ambassador provide a good service at a reasonable price.

Brilliant first cruise with Ambassador on their smaller ship Ambition. I didn't have high expectations so was very pleasantly surprised. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment was first class, every act we saw was 100% and we went to everything! Food was mostly great, not high end classy but all served fresh and piping hot , very acceptable. Saffron speciality dining was superb. The ship itself was beautiful, spotlessly clean and had a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Booked 3 more cruises with them over the next 20 months! Strongly recommended

My wife and I have had several cruises with Ambassador and we have enjoyed them all. We live in London so the convenience of sailing from Tilbury is very appealing. We also like the fact that you cater for people of a certain age, especially with your entertainment and excursions. We have already encouraged my wife's sister and brother-in-law to join us. We will be sailing together in September 2027. Barbara and I are also sailing with you on 4th of next month and we are looking forward to joining you. Keep up the good work !
