For Jenny Powell, travel has always been about more than just seeing the world — it’s about feeling good while you do it. Known for her energy, warmth and love of keeping active, Jenny has found that life at sea offers the perfect balance of relaxation, movement and mindfulness.
“For me, wellbeing isn’t just something you do at home,” says Jenny. “It’s a way of living — and when you’re on a ship surrounded by sea air, space and calm, it’s amazing how naturally it all falls into place.”
Here, Jenny shares her favourite ways to nurture body and mind while cruising with Ambassador Cruise Line.

Jenny believes the way you start the day shapes everything that follows.
“I love getting up early when the decks are quiet,” she says. “There’s something so peaceful about watching the sunrise with a coffee in hand. You can walk, stretch, breathe — it’s the best kind of reset.”
Guests can join stretch sessions, yoga and Pilates classes, or simply take a slow stroll as the ocean glimmers all around. The fresh sea breeze and open horizon make it easy to start each day feeling grounded and energised.
Eating well at sea is easy when the food is fresh, varied and beautifully prepared — which is exactly what Jenny loves about dining with Ambassador.
“You can enjoy lighter options without feeling like you’re missing out,” she says. “There are gorgeous salads, grilled fish, fresh fruit and great veggie dishes — it’s real food made with care.”
From Buckingham & Holyrood Restaurants to the buffet-style Borough Market, every menu includes healthy, balanced choices alongside indulgent treats — all part of Ambassador’s commitment to outstanding cuisine.
Wellbeing isn’t limited to the gym (though the ships’ fitness centres are fully equipped for those who want to keep moving). For Jenny, it’s just as much about slowing down and taking care of yourself.
“The spa is one of my favourite places,” she admits. “You can book a massage, sweat it out in the sauna, or just relax in the steam room and let your mind drift.”
Ambassador’s Green Sea Spa & Wellness Centre offers everything from massages and facials to hair and nail treatments. Guests can also join wellness classes, dance sessions and deck games, all designed to make fitness fun and social.

Wellness doesn’t stop when you go ashore. Many of Ambassador’s destination experiences naturally lend themselves to slower, more mindful travel.
“I love excursions that connect you with nature,” Jenny says. “A walk through Iceland’s hot springs, a botanical garden in Madeira, a gentle hike to a viewpoint — it’s about feeling alive and present wherever you are.”
Whether it’s thermal bathing in the Blue Lagoon, exploring Norway’s fjords or wandering the tranquil gardens of Lisbon, these moments of stillness and beauty are the ultimate tonic.
Cruising gives Jenny the chance to truly switch off.
“We’re all so connected all the time,” she says. “Being at sea reminds you that it’s okay to slow down. You don’t have to check your phone every five minutes — just be where you are, talk to people, enjoy the view.”
Without endless notifications, guests often rediscover simple pleasures — reading, chatting over coffee, or just watching the waves roll by.

After days filled with activity, relaxation or exploration, restful sleep is an essential part of the wellness journey.
“The cabins and beds are so comfortable,” Jenny shares. “You fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, and there’s something deeply soothing about that. It’s the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. And, I found out you can take the pillows home with you”
Ambassador’s cabins are designed with comfort and calm in mind — soft lighting, spacious layouts, and that gentle motion of the sea that lulls you into deep rest.
For Jenny, wellness at sea isn’t about routines or rules — it’s about balance.
“You can do as much or as little as you like,” she says. “Take a yoga class, enjoy a cocktail, read a book in the sun — it’s all about enjoying yourself and coming home feeling restored.”
On an Ambassador cruise, every guest is invited to find their own rhythm of relaxation — whether that’s movement, mindfulness or simply soaking up the sea air.
