Sail directly from the UK across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean. Instead of taking a flight to join a cruise ship overseas, the journey begins at London International Cruise Terminal, sailing south and west across the Atlantic before arriving in the Caribbean.
A no-fly cruise offers a seamless way to begin the experience directly from the UK, and with the ship as your starting point, there is no need for a long-haul flight or separate overseas transfers. Although no-fly Caribbean cruises are considerably longer than comparable flight-inclusive itineraries, the journey gives you time to settle into life on board before enjoying the Caribbean islands.

Benefits of a no-fly Caribbean cruise include:
- Board the ship from the UK, London Tilbury
- No airport queues or luggage restrictions
- Unpack once and keep the same cabin for the whole journey
- Relaxing sea days before reaching the Caribbean
- Visiting multiple islands on one sailing, a real voyage of discovery
- Settling into life on board from the very first day

Neither is the "right" way to see the Caribbean; it simply depends on how you prefer to travel. Whether you’d like to hop on a plane to board the ship in Barbados or embrace the journey across the Atlantic by sailing there from the UK, both types of Caribbean cruise with Ambassador promise beautiful ports, indulgent culture and an unforgettable experience.

The journey across the Atlantic
Sea days are just as valuable as those in port, and consecutive nights spent crossing the Atlantic are more intentional than they may seem. As the ship heads south and west, the climate transitions away from the UK’s cooler temperatures to gradually give way to warmer days and calmer evenings, so by the time you set foot in the Caribbean you’ve had time to unwind rather than stepping straight from one extreme to another.

Exactly how many consecutive sea days you'll have depends on your chosen itinerary, but you can expect several days at sea before your first island call. Stretches of up to six or seven consecutive sea days at either end of the sailing are not uncommon for a no-fly Caribbean cruise. But these sea days are not comparable to a long-haul flight; amazing entertainment, outstanding cuisine, onboard amenities and an extensive daily programme of activities ensure that there’s always something to keep you busy or help you relax – whichever suits the day.
Life On Board Your No-Fly Caribbean Cruise

On a longer, no-fly sailing, life on board isn't just part of the cruise; it's most of it, which is exactly why we put so much into it. Full board dining, live entertainment, enrichment talks and wellness classes run throughout the cruise, with plenty of quieter corners for guests who'd rather enjoy a book in the library or relax on a sun lounger than join an organised activity.
Our two ladies of the sea currently operating our no-fly Caribbean itineraries, Ambience and Ambition, are smaller ships, 1,400 and 1,300 guests respectively, so it's easy to find your favourite spot, get to know the crew by name and strike up conversation with fellow guests - solo travellers included. A typical sea day might mean enjoying a speciality coffee on the deck as the sun rises, joining a fitness class or enrichment talk after breakfast, a lazy afternoon by the pool and dinner followed by a show in the evening. But as much as it’s easy to stay busy on a sea day, plenty of our guests are just as happy filling the day with very little at all.
Caribbean Islands on a No-Fly Cruise
A no-fly Caribbean sailing doesn't mean fewer islands; with more time at sea built into the itinerary, these cruises can call at a wide range of Caribbean destinations in one trip, so expect a real mix along the way. Think white sand beaches, historic harbour towns, tropical landscapes, local markets and cuisine, music and island culture.
The exact islands visited per sailing will vary by itinerary.

Can you cruise to the Caribbean from the UK without flying?
Yes. Our no-fly Caribbean cruises sail directly from the UK across the Atlantic, so there's no flight to arrange at all.
How long does a no-fly Caribbean cruise take?
Most no-fly Caribbean cruises with Ambassador last between 40 and 50 nights, including the Atlantic crossing both ways and time spent visiting the islands.
Which UK ports offer no-fly Caribbean cruises?

How many sea days are there between the UK and the Caribbean?
This varies by itinerary, but you can expect up to seven consecutive days at sea in each direction as part of the Atlantic crossing.
What is it like to cross the Atlantic on a cruise ship?
Relaxed and sociable. Days at sea bring full board dining, entertainment, enrichment talks and wellness activities, with plenty of time to enjoy the ship as the weather gradually warms on the way to the Caribbean.
What can I do during sea days?
As much or as little as you like. Fitness classes, enrichment talks, live entertainment and dining continue throughout, with quieter spots to relax with a book or simply watch the ocean go by.
Which Caribbean islands can I visit without flying?
Our no-fly itineraries can include a wide range of Caribbean islands over the course of the sailing. See a list of our Caribbean destinations here, but note that the exact ports of call vary by itinerary.
Which ships operate no-fly Caribbean cruises?

What is included in a no-fly Caribbean cruise?
Your fare includes full board dining, onboard entertainment and access to onboard facilities for the whole voyage, with no flights, transfers or overseas hotels to arrange separately. Upgrade your experience with the Ambassador Fare, which is inclusive of our Premium Drinks Package, or elevate further with a Wi-Fi Package, table at a speciality restaurant or spa treatment for an additional cost.
How much luggage can I take on a no-fly cruise?
Since you won't be flying, luggage arrangements are generally more relaxed than on a flight-inclusive holiday, but for safety reasons, each bag/suitcase cannot exceed 23kg.
What should I pack for a no-fly Caribbean cruise?
Pack for two climates in one trip: warmer layers for the UK departure and early days at sea, plus light clothing, swimwear, comfortable walking shoes and sun protection for the Caribbean. Something smarter for evening dining or onboard events is worth including too.
Is a no-fly Caribbean cruise suitable for solo travellers?
Yes, plenty of solo travellers enjoy the sociable, relaxed atmosphere a smaller ship brings, and a longer sailing gives even more time to settle in and get to know fellow guests.
Do I need a passport or visas for a no-fly Caribbean cruise?
You'll need a valid passport with enough validity left to cover your trip. Visa requirements can vary depending on your nationality and the ports on your itinerary, so it's worth checking the latest guidance before you travel. Contact Guest Services for more information.
Is a no-fly Caribbean cruise suitable for guests with limited mobility?
We offer a range of adapted cabins to accommodate disability and/or mobility needs. Please get in touch with our Guest Services team ahead of booking to talk through any accessibility requirements, so we can help you choose the right cabin and itinerary for your needs.
