River Cruise & Dublin City Drive

Welcome to Dublin's Fair City. Bustling, cosmopolitan, ancient but young at heart, Dublin is one of Europe's liveliest cities, where medieval and 17th century buildings stand comfortably amid all the trappings of a 21st century metropolis. Your voyage of discovery begins with an approximate 45-minute transfer to the River Liffey, upon which Dublin was built.

Arriving at the boarding point, you will embark on a gentle and relaxing cruise along the river, during which you will hear the story of Dublin - from the first arrival of the Vikings, to the rapid development of the city during the 18th and 19th centuries. You will also be told the story behind the iconic Ha'penny Bridge as well as Gandon's masterpiece, the majestic Custom House. Follow the story of Dublin's Royal and Grand Canals, you will see where Oliver Cromwell landed in 1649. Later you will learn how much of present-day Dublin now sits on reclaimed land, including Trinity College and the Spire in O'Connell Street.

Once your river tour has concluded, you will rejoin your coach and guide for a scenic drive through the city to see some of Dublin’s main sights including the renowned Guinness Brewery campus, home of the famous ‘black stuff’. Then it's on to Phoenix Park, Europe's largest enclosed public park, where, you can see the homes of Ireland's President and the American Ambassador.

After a short comfort break, you will rejoin your coach and travel to the north side of Dublin's River Liffey, where you will pass the Four Courts, Ireland's courts of justice before your return journey to Dun Laoghaire.
