You will begin with an approximately 1hour 15minute journey from the harbour town of Dun Laoghaire to Glendalough. On arrival in Glendalough, you will have an optional guided walk to visit one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland set amongst some stunning scenery. This early Christian settlement was founded by St. Kevin during the 6th century and consists of several monastic ruins. One of Europe’s finest examples of Round Tower architecture can be found here, as well as a cathedral, stone church and decorated crosses.
Following this, your scenic drive through County Wicklow continues as your journey takes you to a local venue where a stop will be made to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a scone.
Having enjoyed the beauty of this peaceful and picturesque valley, your return journey will take you through quaint, pretty villages of Wicklow before joining the coastal road.
