Departing the pier in Ringaskiddy you will travel to Cork City for a scenic drive which will introduce you to Cork. This city began life as an island on the swampy estuary of the River Lee just upstream from Cork Harbour, one of the world’s largest natural harbours. Today, the River Lee flows through the city in two main channels, so you find yourself constantly crossing bridges. In fact, it is this feature of the city that gives it its distinctively continental air. Today, Cork City has become the shopping and commercial capital of the south of Ireland.

Cork is a university city with a unique character, full of jazz, film, opera and theatre. However, as well as offering the many amenities of a large city, it still manages to retain the pleasant charm and friendliness of a country town. Highlights of your drive will include seeing the spires of St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, the Old Courthouse, and the City Hall.

Next you will visit the Jameson Heritage Centre in the beautiful market town of Midleton, which will take you right to the heart of the cherished whiskey-making tradition. The Jameson Experience is fully guided and brings the stories of Jameson’s rich heritage to life. You'll learn about the hard-working people and field-to-glass processes responsible for the whiskey that bears John Jameson's name.

At the distillery, you will be joined by a Jameson Ambassador who will guide you around some of the key buildings, including the warehouses and the micro distillery. The experience finishes with your chance to complete a guided comparative tasting- of three whiskeys, one being Jameson.

Following the tasting, you can browse the souvenir shop before re-joining your coach for the return drive to Ringaskiddy.
