Manx Panorama
Douglas, Isle of Man

Enjoy a panoramic drive that takes you through the stunning scenery of the Isle of Man, combined with free time to explore two of the island’s major towns.
Departing from Douglas, drive to the south of the island, passing over the legendary Fairy Bridge where it is considered bad luck to pass over the bridge without saying ‘Laa Mie’ (good day) to the fairies!
Your first stop will be in Castletown, the original capital of Mann until 1869. Here you can admire external views of the magnificent Castle Rushen which is one of the finest examples of a medieval castle in the British Isles, and enjoy approximately one-hour of free time to stroll through the town and along the picturesque harbour.
Departing Castletown, your tour continues to the pretty bay at Port Erin on the south-west coast, before travelling up the western coast of the island to Peel, affectionately known as the ‘Sunset City’. The harbour is dominated by the striking ruins of Peel Castle which guard the entrance, with its quaint narrow streets and lovely harbour. On arrival in Peel you will have approximately one-hour of free time to explore at leisure.
Your return journey takes you inland to Tynwald Hill. Located in the little village of St. John’s this grass topped, tiered hill is the location of the world’s oldest democratic parliament, which has run continuously since 979 A.D. Each year on July 5th, all the laws enacted in the year preceding are promulgated to the gathered government officials and the public at large, both in Manx (Gaelic) and English languages. A short photo stop will be made before continuing through the beautiful central valley area of the island known as the ‘Plains of Heaven’, to reach Douglas.
