Fowey Hall Walk

Enjoy the still tranquil waters of Pont Pill on a circular walk of exceptional beauty through woodland and creeks with striking views of Fowey Harbour.

Your specialist walking guide will meet you at the tender landing stage where you will begin with a short walk through the charming town of Fowey and then embark as a foot passenger on the Bodinnick Ferry across the River Fowey.

Upon arrival in Bodinnick, you will walk uphill through the quaint village and along the first stretch of Hall Walk, leading you to a stunning viewpoint. From here, you will follow an undulating, partly wooded footpath above Pont Pill, a major tributary of the River Fowey.

The descent to the bridging point is via an ancient packhorse track. Here, you will discover a small, picturesque hamlet nestled around a former commercial quay, which holds special significance in the life story of Daphne du Maurier.

You will then climb away from the quayside to join another contouring path above Pont Pill, this time on the south side of the creek. This path is largely wooded, offering occasional surprise viewpoints with a remarkably remote feel. From here, descend into the charming village of Polruan.

In Polruan, you will board a foot ferry for the short return crossing to Fowey. Stepping ashore, it is just a short walk through the town to the tender landing stage.
