Dornoch & Highlands @ Ease

This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some highlights of this area of the Highlands from the comfort of a coach as well as enjoying some free time at various stops.

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through gentle farmland punctuated by meandering firths, tiny villages, and heather-filled highlands on your way to the Falls of Shin. Your coach will make a short stop at picturesque Struie Viewpoint for an opportunity to take photographs of the unrivalled views of the Highlands and breathe in some of the freshest air in Scotland.

Rejoining your coach, you will continue to the River Shin, a well-known salmon hot spot. You may choose to take an optional walk down the steep path to the ‘Falls’, a series of small cascades over which you may see the Atlantic Salmon hurdle as they make their journey upstream to their spawning site.

From the ‘Falls’, your coach will travel east through pretty scenery and wild moorlands with views of the mountains as you drive through Spinningdale and approach the picturesque town of Dornoch, a seaside resort and former Royal Burgh. It lies on the north shore of Dornoch Firth, near to where it opens into the Moray Firth to the east. You will have some free time to explore on your own, which you may use to stroll down the tree-lined streets and see the weathered stone houses.

Your experience ends with fine views of the moors before returning to Invergordon.
