You will pass through areas of open countryside, passing delightful small villages and deep river valleys as you meander the quintessential English country lanes.

At one of the region’s local tea-rooms or country hotels, you will stop to enjoy a Devonshire Cream Tea. Here in the southwest of England, Devon residents claim that all other versions of a cream tea are inferior to their own. The essential ingredient is the Devonshire clotted cream which comes from local Jersey cattle. The origins of clotted cream are lost in the depths of history, although it is known that monks were making butter from clotted cream in the early 14th century. The cream is spread thickly on freshly baked scones, with lashings of homemade jam-a seductive, delicious treat.

After your cream tea, this relaxing experience concludes with a gentle drive back to Plymouth and your awaiting ship.
