Mount Edgcumbe & Charming Plymouth
Plymouth

by coach, ferry & on foot
Begin your experience with a scenic drive through Plymouth, a city rebuilt after wartime damage and situated between the Rivers Plym and Tamar. Its natural harbour and historic landmarks, including the Barbican and Plymouth Hoe, offer scenic views and rich maritime heritage. Notably, Plymouth Hoe is where Sir Francis Drake famously played a game of bowls before confronting the Spanish Armada.
Continue across the River Tamar via the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall to visit Mount Edgcumbe House. Built in 1547 and restored after WWII, this elegant Tudor mansion showcases refined interiors and offers insight into country house life from centuries past.
Explore the surrounding formal gardens and enjoy views of Devonport and Plymouth. The journey concludes with a short transfer to Torpoint, followed by a public ferry crossing back to Devonport and a return to the pier.
