Vök Nature Baths
Seydisfjordur

by coach & on foot
Departing from the port, an approximately 45-minute unguided scenic drive will bring you to Vök Baths, located on the shores of Lake Urriðavatn.
East Iceland is not normally associated with the geothermal activity for which Iceland is famous. However, throughout the centuries, people who lived close to Lake Urriðavatn noticed certain spots on the lake that curiously did not freeze in the wintertime. The Icelandic name given to these ice-free patches is ‘Vök’, and their source was discovered to be underwater hot springs, streaming up to warm the surface from deep below.
Completed in the summer of 2019, Vök Baths is one of Iceland’s newest geothermal attractions and boasts the country’s first series of floating pools, allowing you to soak in the hot water within and surrounded by the lake.
The design and architecture of the baths complement and embellish the essential qualities of the environment to communicate deep respect for Icelandic nature.
At the pre-agreed time provided by your driver, you will rejoin your coach for the approximately 45-minute unguided return transfer to Seyðisfjörður.
