This experience affords an opportunity to explore the beauty of some of the outer islands via a network of bridges and undersea tunnels.

Departing from the pier, your first stop will be the island of Giske, known as the ‘Saga Island’ and famous for being the birthplace of the Viking Chieftain, Rollo. Here you will visit Giske Church, built in the 12th century - Norway’s only church constructed from marble. The interior dates to the 18th century, following extensive renovation work after a long period of neglect.

Your journey then continues to the island of Godøy and the small fishing village of Alnes, where you will pause at the famous Alnes Lighthouse, built in 1937 and standing 22m (72ft) tall. For those who are feeling energetic and willing, there is the opportunity to climb the 87 steep steps to the viewing platform. Alternatively, you may choose to enjoy the views from ground level and make a visit to the main building to purchase some refreshments or a souvenir of your visit.

Conclude with a drive to the nearby peninsula of Heissa, the westernmost island in the Ålesund municipality, before returning to the port.
