Saltfjell Sami Camp is just a short 10-minute drive from the cruise pier. Here you will have the opportunity to encounter some of Norway’s indigenous traditions first hand, giving you an insight into their fascinating culture.

Reindeer are at the heart of Sami life, and you will have the chance to meet some of the herd, and even pet and feed these gentle creatures whilst learning about their cultural significance. The family that you will meet have been involved in reindeer husbandry for generations, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about their lifestyle.

All too soon it will be time to reboard your bus for the journey back to the cruise pier, pausing at Bodø Cathedral to admire its striking architecture on the way back to the ship.
