This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of Kristiansand and its surroundings, predominantly from the comfort of a coach.

Departing from the pier, an approximately two hour sightseeing drive will provide you with a comprehensive overview of Norway’s fifth largest city and its immediate surroundings.

Kristiansand is a city rich in history. You will learn about its local life and its people as you make your way through the streets. You will see the old town, known as Posybyen, with its traditional wooden houses. This district is more than 300 years old and is Northern Europe’s longest continuous wooden housing development. The houses luckily survived a fire in 1892 and the district is now considered special for its size and the uniqueness of the buildings.

Your route will take you past the Christiansholm Fortress, built by royal decree in 1662 and finished in 1672. The fortress was part of King Christian IV’s defence of Kristiansand and was originally built on an islet about 91m (300ft) from the shore, but today it is connected to the mainland.

Following your city sightseeing drive, you will travel along the scenic coastal road as you make your way back to the pier.
