Kristiansund, a city of around 23,000 inhabitants, is traditionally associated with the fishing industry. However, these days the economy is mainly based on the petroleum and gas production in the North Sea. The town was totally destroyed during WW2 but has been rebuilt and appears today as a modern, attractive town built on three islands connected by bridges.

After a short drive through Kristiansund, continue through scenic surroundings and via Frei Island to the Krifast Bridge which connects the islands to the mainland with views to the inner fjords and the majestic mountains in the background.

Return to Kristiansund for a sightseeing drive which visits the three islands that the town is built on: Kirklandet, Nordlandet and Innlandet, learning about their fascinating history before returning to the ship.
