This unforgettable experience will take you to one of the most beautiful churches in Vesteralen and to a musical performance in very unique surroundings.
Joining your coach and guide you will travel for approximately 45 minutes to Hadsel Church. On the journey you will experience alpine landscapes, surrounded by fjords and straits. Your guide will give you an introduction to the nature, culture and economical life in Vesteralen.
Your first stop is at the octagonal Hadsel Church, built in 1824. Your guide will tell you the history of the church and the surrounding area which was very important during the Middle Ages.
Following this visit, you will drive to Melbu and see the Norwegian Fishing Industry Museum from the outside. After learning about the herring oil industry, you will visit one of the disused fish oil tanks which has been renamed the ‘Royal Neptune Hall’ and listen to a performance of music. This venue has exceptional acoustics, and listening to music inside this huge tank is a fantastic audio experience with a resonance of up to 23 seconds.
After your unique experience, you will return to Sortland pier.
