Nordic Walking
Stavanger, cruise Boknafjord

on foot
Norwegians have long traditions in cross-country skiing and this technique has been further developed for walking. This experience offers a taste of Nordic walking, with wonderful fjordland views.
Discover the Norwegian passion for movement with a taste of Nordic walking – a full-body walking technique inspired by cross -country skiing. Performed with specially designed walking poles, this low impact activity engages most major muscle groups, offering an effective workout that’s easy to learn for both beginners and fitness enthusiasts.
Meet your guide on the quayside, where you will be provided with your walking poles and given an introduction to the technique. Set off on your walk, following the scenic harbour promenade, passing moored ships and traditional seahouses. Along the way, you will see the striking Norwegian Petroleum Museum, stroll through the charming Fargegata, one of Norway’s most colourful streets, and admire Domkirke, Norway’s oldest cathedral which was founded in 1125.
Leaving the city behind, continue into the peaceful Mosvatnet Nature Reserve, where your path loops around a tranquil lake. Pause by the water to appreciate the tranquillity and enjoy a typical snack, before continuing to Vålandsskogen Forest, where quiet trails lead to Vålandstårnet, a historic observation tower offering wonderful views of Stavanger and the fjords.
Return to your awaiting ship via the same route.
