Nature Centre & Voringsfossen Waterfall

Departing from the pier, your scenic journey will take you along Ulvikafjorden, a side arm of the Hardangerfjord, proceeding through several tunnels, necessary in this part of Norway to avoid areas at risk of avalanches, as well as making the road through the mountains possible for motor vehicles to navigate.

Your first stop will be a visit to the Norwegian Nature Centre, established as a state-of-the-art experience and teaching centre for natural and cultural history. During your visit, you will enjoy an approximately 20-minute, 225-degree panoramic film, displaying beautiful images of the Hardangervidda National Park and surrounding area, along with some free time to browse the exhibitions set over three floors. You may wish to head across the road to the gift shop, where you can purchase a Norwegian souvenir.

From here, you will travel for approximately 20 minutes up into the mountains to the Fossli Hotel where you will have an opportunity to take photos of the impressive Voringfossen waterfall, one of the most famous waterfalls in Norway. From the viewing platforms near the Fossli Hotel and from the new bridge crossing the waterfall canyon, you will witness large amounts of water plunging 182m (597ft) into the Mabodalen Valley.

After this short photo stop you will rejoin your coach for the return journey to Ulvik.
