Old Little Belt Bridge Walk

Sydney, New York and now Middelfart in Fredericia all have a bridge-climb. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb one of Denmark’s famous bridges. Built between 1925 and 1935 the Old Little Belt Bridge stretches 1178 metres across the Little Belt. This iconic bridge stands as a monument of the interwar period in Denmark.

So, are you ready for a new experience? At the Old Little Belt Bridge, a very special encounter awaits. Indeed, you can climb on top of it !

After a safety briefing, you will walk together with your guide to the Old Little Belt Bridge, where you will be connected to a safety system – once you have climbed the steps, then it’s an uphill climb and you’ll find yourself 60 metres above sea-level! Making your way across this steel construction, you will feel the whole bridge vibrate as heavy freight trains and fast express trains pass 20m beneath you on the bridge's railway tracks.

From the top enjoy stunning views over the surrounding forest, Hindsgavl Park, the Island of Funen, Jutland and Little Belt down below you. On a clear day, you may even be able to see your ship in the distance.

Your bridge walking guide will tell you about the history of the bridge and the surrounding area. Your guide will also make sure that your experience is captured in photos up on the bridge. Once you have returned to the ship, you can visit the website of the bridge and retrieve your favourite photos from when you were up on high.
