Hamburg Highlights & Miniature Wonderland

This experience will introduce you to some of charming Hamburg’s highlights, followed by a visit to one of Germany’s top tourist attractions – the Miniature Wonderland, the world’s largest model railway.

Departing from the port, sit back, relax and enjoy the passing views as you drive along the city’s streets, passing landmarks such as St. Nikolai Church, which was once the world’s tallest building and today is a war memorial.

A photo stop will be made to admire the impressive Neo-Renaissance Rathaus (Town Hall), which is today the seat of the Government of Hamburg. From here, your journey continues along Hamburg’s most famous street, the Reeperbahn, one of the world’s largest red-light districts and home to yet another architectural marvel, the Dancing Towers.

Time and traffic permitting, a further photo stop might be made at St. Michael’s Church, before continuing past another cultural and urban landmark, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.

The highlight of your experience will undoubtedly be a visit to Miniature Wonderland, the world’s largest model railway collection and a true work of art. Your guide will provide you with a brief introduction before you have free time to explore at leisure. You will feel the passion of the model builders as you take a journey across different countries and continents, through realistic miniature landscapes and a world of fantasy. In this constantly evolving attraction, you will find approximately 1,000 trains, 9,000 vehicles, 40 planes and 250,000 figures. It is easy to see why the Miniature Wonderland is a ‘must -see’ for both locals and visitors to Hamburg.

Following your visit, you will rejoin your coach for the transfer back to the port.
