Wismar & Schwerin @ Ease
Wismar
by coach & on foot
This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of Wismar & Schwerin, predominantly from the comfort of a coach.
Your experience will begin as you board your coach and are given an orientation drive through Wismar, a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site and Hanseatic city. You will stop for a brief photo opportunity at Wismar’s charming market square to see its town hall and merchant’s houses dating from the Middle Ages, as well as the tower of St. Mary’s church and the ‘Old Swede’, built in 1380 and Wismar’s oldest surviving example of merchant’s residence.
Your journey will continue to the state’s capital Schwerin. A city with a delightful combination of nature, culture and exquisite architecture. You will pass by the Mecklenburg State Theatre (widely regarded as one of the finest in Germany), before enjoying a photo stop at Schwerin Castle. A picturesque castle located on an island will most certainly be the highlight of your day. This former royal residence of Mecklenburg Vorpommern is virtually surrounded by lakes and waterways in the middle of one of Germany’s most beautiful lake districts
