This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to explore Amsterdam independently, without having to negotiate public transport or taxis.

Departing from Ijmuiden, an approximately one-hour unguided coach transfer will bring you to the city centre of Amsterdam. You will be accompanied by a local escort who, upon arrival, will provide you with a city map and be at your disposal for approximately 30 minutes to answer questions and help you get you bearings.

You will have approximately 3h45min to explore at leisure. Take a canal cruise, visit a museum or head to the Heineken Experience. For those with a head for heights, you may want to cross the river and head to the A’DAM LOOKOUT, an observation deck on top of the A’DAM Tower. Up here, for those wanting an adrenaline rush, you may choose to book Europe’s highest swing ‘over the edge’!

There are plenty of dining opportunities for a spot of lunch. Later, if you want a quiet spot for contemplation and a site of historical interest, it is worth seeking out Begijnhof, an enclosed courtyard dating from the early 14th century.

At the agreed time, return to the same location where you were dropped off to rejoin your coach for the return transfer to IJmuiden.
