Malmö by Land & Water
  • Shopping time included

by coach, open-top sightseeing boat & on foot

On this experience you will enjoy Sweden’s third largest city from two different perspectives, on land and by sailing along the canals.

Your journey starts with a sightseeing drive passing several of the main sights in Malmö, including Gustav Adolfs Square, The Queens Square, the impressive Post Office building, Malmöhus Castle and Malmö Live - the new concert hall.

Following this, you will embark on an open-top sightseeing boat where you will have the opportunity to see Malmö from a different viewpoint as you sail along the canals and under its bridges. You will enjoy views of Malmö’s parks and both the old and modern parts of the city while your guide shares some of the history, the personalities, buildings and interesting facts of this beautiful city.

Leaving the open-top boat, you will rejoin your coach to drive to Malmö’s most famous landmark, the 190m (623ft) high apartment building ‘Turning Torso’, designed by the world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava twisting towards the sky. The ‘Turning Torso’ is located in Västra Hamnen - a former shipyard which is now being transformed to a modern residential area.

Continuing on, you will also drive through the beautiful Castle Park (Kungsparken) passing by the Town Library (designed by the world famous Dane architect Henning Larsen) as well as Malmö’s casino.

Your next stop will be Malmö Old Town where your guide will take you for a stroll along the Stortorget (Great Square). Here you will find buildings dating from the 16th century, including the Town Hall, Jörgen Kocks’ House, Malmö’s oldest pharmacy and the county Governor’s mansion.

Your walk continues to the nearby Lilla Torg (Small Square) – a picturesque square with lots of small restaurants and pubs. Time permitting you may have some free time here. During the walk a photo stop will be made to Sankt Petri Church, one of Malmö’s oldest buildings boasting a 98 m (322ft) tall spire and interesting vault paintings.

Following this you will rejoin your coach for the return journey back to the port.
