Las Terrazas – A UNESCO Project

This full-day experience will introduce you to Las Terrazas, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve nestled in the heart of Cuba’s Sierra del Rosario mountains. This eco-community is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and sustainable living practices.

Departing from the port, an approximately 90-minute journey will bring you to Rancho Curujey. Here, you will enjoy a cocktail and learn about the history and environmental significance of the area whilst admiring the stunning views of lush forests and surrounding lakes.

You will then make your way to Las Terrazas. Here, you will take a stroll with your guide to visit the community and witness how creativity and sustainability thrive in harmony with each other.

Your next stop will be a visit to the Lester Campa Art Gallery, a space dedicated to one of Cuba’s most prominent contemporary artists, whose nature-inspired works offer a glimpse into the connection between art and the environment.

A short drive will bring you to your next stop, a visit to Casa Polo Montanez. This is the former home of the legendary Cuban musician Polo Montanez, where you will learn about his life and enjoy some of his music, which still resonates throughout the region.

Finally, you will enjoy a delightful lunch at Cafetal Buenavista, a beautifully restored 19th century coffee plantation. Here, you can savour traditional Cuban cuisine and enjoy views of the verdant landscape and mountains.
