A Taste of Cozumel & Semi-Sub

During this experience, you will have the opportunity to taste some locally produced chocolate and Mexico’s traditional drink, Tequila, along with a cruise over Cozumel’s reef in a semi-submersible vessel.

Departing from the pier, enjoy the passing scenery as your journey takes you along the island’s west coast to your first stop, a visit to the Mayan Cacao Company. Here, you will learn about the cacao bean and how it is made into chocolate, and of course, you will have the opportunity to taste the finished product. You will also visit a Mayan house for an insight into how Mayan people used to live and learn about their customs and traditions. You may wish to browse the gift shop to purchase a souvenir of your visit.

Rejoining your coach, you will make your way back up the west coast to your next stop at Barriecito, where you will learn about Tequila and have the chance to taste this traditional Mexican drink.

Following this, you will be transferred to a nearby pier to embark Cozumel’s glass bottomed semi-submersible vessel. Descending into the hull, take your seat next to one of the large windows and keep your eyes peeled for marine life as your captain sails over the reef and your guide provides narration about what you can expect to see during your approximately one-hour sailing.

Returning to dry land, rejoin your coach for the short transfer back to the port.
