Leaving Le Verdon behind, you will depart to the south towards the Medoc vineyards area. On the way, you will drive along the famous Medoc wine route or ‘Route des Chateaux’, located between the Gironde estuary and the largest forest in France, the Landes Forest.

The Route des Chateaux provides magnificent views of vine-covered slopes rising as far as the eye can see. The Medoc vineyards are orderly and well-kept, almost to the point of fanaticism, and the region’s famous chateaux produce wines that are nothing short of inspired.

During the journey, a short photo stop will be made for a chance to admire one of the picturesque chateaux along the wine route.

You will then have the opportunity to visit the cellars of a traditional wine estate. Here you will learn the techniques of winemaking and be shown around the cellars, before getting to sample 2 recent vintages for yourself.

The return drive will allow you to enjoy more of the charming vineyard countryside, before arriving back to Le Verdon.
