Meeting your knowledgeable guide ashore, you will begin your guided walk around Saint-Malo which was founded in the 6th century by Welsh monks and remains imbued with the spirit of old-world France. Seafarers and merchant ship owners brought the city much prosperity during the 17th and 18th centuries. During this time, many great personages shaped the city: Jacques Cartier explored Canada and claimed it for France, and the privateers Duguay-Trouin and Surcouf contributed to Saint-Malo's prestige.

As you learn about the great people that have made this town what it is over the years, you’ll enjoy a stroll past the city's iconic landmarks, admiring the port of Saint-Vincent, the castle, the Chapel Saint-Sauveur, the cathedral, the House of the Duchess Anne, and the ancient street of Pelicot with its unique timber houses and ramparts.

Following your guided walk you can either return to the tender landing stage with your guide or stay in town and continue to enjoy Saint-Malo at your leisure.
