Medieval Dinan

This experience provides you with the opportunity to explore the Medieval town of Dinan, known for its breathtaking old world architecture.

Departing from Saint-Malo by coach, you will first make the approximately 45-minute drive south to Dinan. From the moment you enter Dinan, you'll notice the protective ramparts, towers and city gates that have helped guard this city over the years.

Leaving your coach behind, join your guide as you walk along the ancient streets, admiring the half-timbered houses, constructed using a unique method in which the structural elements use timber and the spaces between utilize other materials like stone, plaster, or wattle and daub.

Dinan boasts a collection of one hundred houses that date from the Middle Ages through to the 18th century. Take a stroll along the Rue de l'Horloge and see the Saint Sauveur Basilica with its stunning Romanesque porch.

Following your guided walk, you will have approximately one-hour of free time to explore the city further at your own pace, before meeting your guide who will lead you back to the coach ready for the return journey back to Saint-Malo.
