This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of the local area, primarily from the comfort of a coach, combined with photo stops and a visit to a ceramic factory.

Departing from the port, your journey commences with a drive by the walls that encircle the medieval Old Town of Rhodes. You will pass the yachts and pleasure craft moored in Mandraki Harbour and make a photo stop at what is believed to be the site where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood – a huge statue which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

From here, you continue up the slopes of Monte Smith where another photo stop will be made at the site of the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes, where you will have commanding views over Rhodes Old Town.

Following this, your drive will take you along country roads until you reach St. Paul’s Bay, believed to be where the Apostle Paul sought shelter during a storm. Pause here for photos before your journey continues to the village of Lindos, where another photo opportunity will be made at a viewpoint overlooking the picturesque village with the Lindos Acropolis in the distance.

During the return drive to the port, a stop will be made at a local ceramics factory. The island of Rhodes is famous for its traditional ceramic art and local artists still use age-old methods to make ceramic wares. There will be an opportunity to browse and purchase the items on display in the factory’s shop.

Time permitting, you may be given the option to be dropped off at one of the entrances to the Old Town. Should you wish to explore the Old Town, you will be responsible for making your own way back to the ship on foot.
