Cagliari Sightseeing
Cagliari, Sardinia
by bus/minibus & on foot
Enjoy discovering the historical city of Cagliari, Sardinia’s capital city, with your experience beginning with a scenic coach ride.
Your first stop will bethe 18thcentury Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria, a Catholic basilica and Marian church, with a bus ride along a 8km (5mile) stretch of uninterrupted shoreline called Poetto Beach. From here, you’ll continue to your second stop Monte Urpinu, where you can enjoy a charismatic park visit, providing a relaxing oasis located right in the middle of town. A panoramic point on top of the hill offers wonderful views of Cagliari old town for photo opportunities.
From here, you’ll continue with a drive to the city centre to begin a guided walk inside the old quarter, Castello. Admire 17th century Porta Cristina, an access gate to the Castello district, to walk with outside viewings of the city’s 13th and 14th century cathedral. Explore the narrow streets and historic towers that characterise this ancient district, from which Cagliari gets its name in the local dialect, "Casteddu." You'll also have some free time to wander around and find the perfect souvenir before returning to the ship.
