Discover ancient Tarquinia, founded in the 7th century B.C. and famous for its Etruscan tombs for which it was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 1922.

You will join your coach for an approximately 30-minute drive to Tarquinia where you will board a trolley train.

During your journey you will enter through Tarquina’s old city walls and pass by the Town Hall, the Cathedral of Santa Margherita, the Church of Santa Maria Castello, and tall medieval towers that characterise the view of Tarquinia. You will then stop at a vantage point to see the beautiful view of the Marta River valley. Your trolley train ride will end at Palazzo Vitelleschi, an excellent example of early Renaissance architecture, which houses the Archaeological Museum. You will have some free time here to enjoy independent exploration.

After approximately 30-minutes you will rejoin your coach and drive to a farmhouse where you will enjoy a tasting of local wine and delicious fresh local products before returning to the ship.
