Discover Morocco’s pearl of the southern Atlantic coast, Agadir. The city is close to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and is one of the first beach resorts to be established in Morocco. In 1960, Agadir was struck by an earthquake which destroyed most of the city. It has since been rebuilt and is now a popular seaside resort.

Leaving the port, you head towards Agadir Oufella Kasbah for an exterior visit. Originally built by the Saadian dynasty in the 16th century, Oufella Kasbah is where you will find what remains of ‘old’ Agadir as it managed to survive the 1960s earthquake. From here you will enjoy impressive views overlooking the city.

Your journey continues back to the city passing along the bustling main avenues of Agadir to Talborjt Mosque, a great example of Moroccan architecture with its tall minaret, large arched wooden doors and Moorish influences.

Following a short photo stop at the Mosque, the last stop on this tour is on Agadir’s beach-fronted promenade – the Corniche. Here you will have approximately 1.5h of free time to walk along the sandy beach or enjoy a drink in one of the many bars and cafes before re-joining your coach for the return drive to the ship.
