Highlights of Tangier
Tangier

by coach & on foot
Tangier is known for its distinctive architecture, that consists primarily of white buildings. These well recognised buildings are frequently decorated with colourful elements, such as blue doors and windows, that add to the city's ambience and its brightness. Tangier's architectural style, which is influenced by numerous civilizations such as Moroccan, Spanish and French, contributes to its reputation as a cultural destination.
Your experience begins with a drive along the city's sandy coastline and through the main avenues of the new town. You will make a photo stop at Africa's most north western point, "Cap Spartel." Known in antiquity as the Cape of Vines, this scenic promontory marks the entrance to the Straits of Gibraltar and is famous for its breathtaking views. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Rock of Gibraltar and coast of Spain.
Following this, explore the magical Cave of Hercules, venture inside this natural wonder steeped in mythological legends. This rock cave is said to have been used as a temple by the legendary hero Hercules, who slept in the cave before starting one of his 12 legendary labours..
Next you will return to Tangier to explore on foot, the ancient streets of the Kasbah district. A UNESCO world heritage site, the Kasbah is famous for its architectural magnificence and cultural significance. Continuing your walk to the Grand Socco and its vivid fruits and vegetable market. You will end your experience by walking downhill through the medina, a maze of narrow streets lined with textile merchants.
Before you return to the pier, you’ll be able to enjoy a well-deserved refreshment break at a hotel in one of the oldest districts of the Medina of Tangier.
