Highlights of Ceuta
  • Shopping time included

by coach & on foot

See the highlights of Ceuta, an autonomous city of Spain situated on the African coastline. To the west and southwest it borders with Morocco.

Your experience will begin with a scenic drive into the hills and up to Monte Hacho, a low mountain that overlooks the city. From here you will have some fantastic views over the strait of Gibraltar and Ceuta. You will also see San Antonio hermitage, a small chapel which is very popular for Ceuta’s inhabitants. You will continue back towards Ceuta and arrive for a guided walk through the Mediterranean Marine Park which boasts saltwater pools, palm trees and various restaurants.

Your journey will continue to the Plaza de Africa, the nerve centre of this multicultural city where you will find a monument dedicated to those who lost their lives during the African War (1859-1860). Around the square stands an old Muslim Mosque, the City Hall, the Comandancia General military headquarters and the cathedral, Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de África, in which the image of the patron saint and permanent mayor of the city is venerated. Your guided walk through the old town of Ceuta will continue towards the impressive old city walls and moat that will give you an idea of the military & strategic importance of this city.

Afterwards, you will have the option to return to the ship with your guide, or you can choose to stay in town to explore further and walk back to the ship on your own.
