Beautiful Historic Walled Town of Alcudia

Departing from the port, you will enjoy an approximately one-hour drive that will take you across the island to Alcúdia, a town of quiet character and charm.

Alcúdia is a perfectly restored walled city located on a peninsula that separates the bays of Pollenca and Alcúdia. The medieval walls enclose a maze of narrow lanes, historic mansions, cafe-rimmed plazas and warm-stone houses.

Disembarking from the coach, you will follow your guide on a walk through the old town. The walls you see today were added after the Spanish conquest in the early 14th century under the rule of King Jaume II as a way of protecting the town’s inhabitants from further attacks. During your walk, you will see evidence of the Moorish influence in the architecture and take in views of some of the main buildings of note, such as the Church of Sant Jaume, whose high bell tower is home to the oldest bell in Mallorca.

Before rejoining your coach for the return drive to the port, you will enjoy some free time to explore further at leisure and perhaps browse the shops for a souvenir of your visit or purchase some refreshments in a pavement cafe.
