Discover Uthina & Zriba by 4x4

This experience is for guests who enjoy an adventure and want to explore deeper into Tunisia.

You will begin by departing the pier in a 4x4 vehicle to start the day with an unguided drive towards the Uthina archaeological site. Not much is known about Uthina, but the city had one of North Africa's largest Roman amphitheatres, able to hold about 16,000 spectators which was enjoyed by its cosmopolitan residents in the city's 2nd century heyday. You will also have the opportunity to wander through the remains of the majestic Capitol, although the temples no longer stand, the restored columns offer a glimpse into the past. You will see the Fishing Angels Baths with its fine semi-circular mosaic, which features cherubs casting nets into a fish laden stream.

Following your time in Uthina, you will rejoin your vehicle for an approximately one-hour drive to Zriba Olia. This is an abandoned Berber village, built in the 17th century but deserted in the 1960’s leaving behind ruins which can be explored. You will be able to walk through the rooms and buildings, before enjoying a Tunisian lunch with the locals at Dar Zriba.

You will then re-join your 4x4 vehicle for the unguided return journey to the pier.
