From departing the pier, you’ll head through Tunis city and arrive at the old town inside the Medina. Once you arrive, you will begin a guided walk and view the various souks with their spices, perfumes, gold, silver and carpet shops. You will also visit the outside of the great Ez-Zitouna Mosque and from nearby, you’ll have the opportunity to experience a birds eye view of the Medina and take photos of the unique surrounding. You will be given some free time for independent exploring or perhaps negotiating the best deals from the stalls.

Following this very colourful experience in the Medina, you’ll rejoin your transport and head towards Carthage Roman Ruins for a guided sightseeing experience. With many highlights including the Tophet, an ancient sacred area; Punic temple ruins and columns; and the enormous Roman Antonine Baths built between 145 to 165 AD.

From here, you will drive to a local restaurant for lunch and then rejoin your transport for the short drive to Byrsa Hill, where you will have another guided walk of the area with its sprawling maze of ancient streets and alleyways.

You will then continue on a short drive to Sidi Bou Said, one of the enchanting villages in Tunisia and famous for its Moorish architecture and white houses with its recognisable blue shutters. You will disembark in a local square close by,which you’ll then take a short, uphill walk bringing you to the heart of the village, sitting proudly at the top of a cliff, commanding stunning views over the Gulf of Tunis. Here, you will enjoy some free time for shopping in the local craft shops, enjoy a mint tea in one of the coffee shops at your own expense or explore before finally rejoining your coach for the return drive back to the port.
