Discover Venice & Doge's Palace

Venice is a city in Northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is built on a group of more than 100 islands in a shallow lagoon. It has no roads, just canals, and for many is considered one of the most beautiful and iconic cities in the world. The city is full of Renaissance and Gothic palaces and famous for its central square which contains St. Mark’s Basilica.

Departing from Trieste by bus, an approximately 2h15min unguided transfer will bring you to Tronchetto, Venice where you will embark on a motor launch which will transport you to the heart of the city.

Here you will start your guided experience and visit Doge’s Palace, one of the main landmarks of Venice. The palace was the official residence of the Doge (governor) of Venice who was the elected leader of the former Venetian Republic. The palace incorporates Gothic, Moorish and Renaissance architecture. During your visit you will pass by the prison cells and will walk the infamous ‘Bridge of Sighs’.

Following your guided visit you will have some free time for independent exploration or to purchase some lunch. At the agreed time and place you will re-board the motor-launch for the transfer back to Tronchetto, Venice’s practical gateway, where you will join your bus for the unguided return transfer to Trieste.
