Zadar & Nin

Your experience will begin as you board your coach for a short transfer to the centre of Zadar where you will start a guided walk in one of the oldest cities on the Dalmatian coast. Its past is marked by independence, conflict and remarkable resilience. Influenced by both Croatian and Venetian rule, Zadar’s old town blends striking medieval and Renaissance architecture with an ancient Roman urban layout.

As you explore, you will encounter some of the city's most iconic landmarks including the Church of St. Donat, the Sea Gate, the Land Gate, the historic City Walls, and the Square of Five Wells. These sites reflect the city's long history; from Roman fortifications built under Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus, to medieval churches that later rose within the old settlement.

Your journey will continue with a scenic drive to Nin, a historic town set on a tiny islet surrounded by a tranquil lagoon. Connected to the mainland by two 16th-century stone bridges, Nin has roots dating back nearly 10,000 years. Settled by the Croats in the 7th century and becoming the first Croatian royal town in the 9th century, Nin holds an important place in the country’s early history. During your guided walk of Nin you will discover its charming streets, sandy surroundings, and the legacy of its medieval bishops and rulers.

You will also enjoy some free time in Nin to explore at leisure. You can chose to relax by the lagoon, stroll through the old streets, or take in the scenic views. Your journey will conclude as you reboard your coach for the return drive to Zadar.
