This experience is ideally suited to those wishing to see some of the highlights of Alexandria, predominantly from the comfort of a coach.

Lying northwest of the Nile Delta, Alexandria is the largest port in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and one of the major summer resorts on the Mediterranean Sea.

Departing from the pier, you will begin with a city drive through the colourful, busy streets of Alexandria viewing sometimes tired, but beautiful architecture and experiencing the charming aura and nostalgia of yesteryear. You will pass the bronze equestrian statue of Muhammad Ali, widely considered as the founder of modern Egypt. You will also pass the elegant marble edifice dedicated to the Unknown Soldier.

Continuing with your city drive, a short photo stop will be made to view Qait Bey Fort, built on the original site of Alexandria’s ancient lighthouse. A further photo stop will be made at the impressive Abu Al Abbas Mosque, one of the city’s most important historic mosques and a beautiful monument to Alexandria’s most beloved Muslim saint – Al Mursi Abu Al Abbas.

Enjoy a stop at a local venue for a cup of tea or coffee or a juice before continuing with your city drive to Alexandria’s Bibliotheca. A photo stop will be made to admire the outside of this impressive building which opened in 2002. The structure takes the form of a gigantic, angled discus embedded in the ground. The exterior walls are carved with letters, pictograms, hieroglyphs and symbols from more than 120 different human scripts.

During the return drive to the port, you will pass the site of the Roman Amphitheatre, the only one of its kind to have been discovered in Egypt.
