Fun-Loving Brits at Sea follows a group of guests onboard Ambassador Cruise Line as they laugh, explore, relax, and discover what life at sea is all about. To introduce them, we asked each couple the same questions – about their worries, their highlights, and what they’d say to others thinking about a cruise. Their answers give a glimpse of the fun, friendship and adventure you’ll see in the series.
What were you most worried about before the cruise?
James & Damien: “We honestly didn’t know what to expect – would we enjoy it, would we get seasick, would we feel stuck on board?”
Anne & Yvonne: “Only the weather really – so there wouldn’t be any rocky sailing.”
Lewis (with dad Graham): “I was nervous about the open sea but didn’t want to let Dad down. Friends laughed – it was so out of character for me!”
Sarah: “I thought I might get bored on sea days – but I never did.”
Clive & Bernadette: “We were curious – we’d never cruised before, so we wondered if it would suit us.”
What was your favourite space onboard?
Glenys & Ian: “Favourite space has got to be in Borough Market drooling over all the AMAZING cakes!”
Anne & Yvonne: “The Palladium. The entertainment was superb – Songs of the Divas was a great night out.”
Sarah & Shin: “The walking deck was our thing – fresh air, ocean views, and time to stroll together.”
James & Damien: “Our cabin balcony – waking up to the sea every morning felt magical.”
Kerri-Anne & Julie: “The spa – pure bliss, and we laughed the whole way through.”
What was your highlight of the entertainment?
Anne & Yvonne: “Songs of the Divas was a highlight – it felt like the West End.”
James & Damien: “The Palladium shows were West End standard – every night felt different.”
Kerri-Anne & Julie: “The silent disco – we laughed until our sides hurt.”
Lewis: “We thought we’d be rubbish at the quiz, but it was actually fun – we laughed the whole way through.”
And what about the food?
Glenys & Ian: “The cakes surpassed my wildest dreams. I’d go back tomorrow just for them.”
Sarah & Shin: “Dinner at Lupino’s was delicious – it felt intimate and special.”
James & Damien: “The Baked Alaska Parade – wow. It was like dinner and theatre combined.”
Clive & Bernadette: “The gala dinners were unforgettable – elegant, beautifully presented, and full of atmosphere.”
What surprised you most about the cruise?
James & Damien: “We thought it might feel restrictive, but it was the opposite – it was freeing.”
Sarah: “I thought I might get bored, but I never did – there was always something happening.”
Clive & Bernadette: “How seamless it all was – the most organised and efficient holiday experience ever.”
Lewis: “I didn’t think I’d like it, but I loved it. I’d do it again tomorrow.”
What advice would you give to someone considering their first cruise?
James & Damien: “Don’t overpack – you’ll spend more time enjoying ship life than in your cabin.”
Glenys & Ian: “Stop thinking and get it booked – you will not regret it.”
Graham & Lewis: “It’s a floating all-inclusive – what’s not to like?”
Jacque & Tamara: “Don’t overthink it – just do it. You’ll never regret the memories you make.”
