Departing from Portsmouth, relax during the approximately 1h45min drive which takes you through the city suburbs, then out into the countryside as you journey to Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stonehenge is one of Britain’s most remarkable and intriguing prehistoric monuments that draws thousands of visitors each year. Simplicity, solitude, and a powerful air of mystery surround this ancient and enigmatic circle of stones set in isolation.

Upon arrival at the Visitor’s Centre, you will have approximately 1h45min of free time to explore at leisure. To make the most of your visit, you may wish to download the ‘Stonehenge Audio Tour’ app to your mobile device so that you can enjoy a guided commentary as you explore the stone circle and the Visitor’s Centre.

When ready, join a shuttle bus to take you closer to the magnificent, mysterious, and awe-inspiring Stonehenge site. As you walk around the stones dating to Neolithic times, take time to consider how they got there, how they were constructed — and perhaps most importantly, why? There are plenty of theories to keep you wondering long after your visit.

Returning by shuttle to the Visitor’s Centre, be sure to visit the Neolithic Life exhibition which includes a 360-degree time-lapse cinema as well as over 250 artefacts and objects from the Neolithic era. You may also wish to purchase some refreshments or a souvenir of your visit before re-joining your coach for the approximately 1h45min return drive to Portsmouth.
